The main educational and mentoring resources in the Slavic Village neighborhood are the University Settlement Neighborhood Center and the Boys and Girls Club:

University Settlement serves the changing needs of the community to enhance quality of life with a variety of urgently needed programs. At no cost, the Magic Johnson / HP Inventor Center provides computers, classes and Internet access to neighborhood families through its 24-terminal computer center. In addition, University Settlement offers tutoring, homework assistance and excellent youth program and state-licensed day care services.

The Boys and Girls Club can play an important role in your educational journey. Their unique programs and services are invaluable, including:

  • Power Hour Homework help and tutoring program offered daily to raise academic proficiency of members ages 6–12.
  • Achievement Plus Academic assistance program that closely mirrors the Cleveland Metropolitan School District's (CMSD) core curriculum and provides youth with year-round educational support.
  • Goals For Graduation Academic goal setting program for students ages 6–15. In one-on-one sessions with Club professionals, members set goals and action plans.

The Broadway United Methodist Church offers academic enrichment support for children ages 6–12 and provides self-esteem and self-awareness classes for older students.

The Jones Road Church offers an outstanding program called “Literacy Through the Arts.” The creative program focuses on tutoring and reading and gives older teens the opportunity to tutor younger children. By participating in the program, students learn about music, theater, dance and the arts.

The Slavic Village Development Corporation partners with other agencies to connect students with valuable educational programs/organizations like Job Corps, City Year, MyCom and Catapult Learning—an online tutoring resource. In addition, they directly organize a summer family activity in local parks called “Movie Night.”
