Randell McShepard

Randell McShepard is a native Clevelander and proud graduate of the Cleveland Municipal School District. He received Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Psychology and Communications from Baldwin-Wallace College and a Masters of Science in Urban Studies from Cleveland State University.

In January, 2001, Randell joined RPM International Inc., a worldwide Fortune 1000 chemical coatings company, as Director of Community Affairs. In October, 2007, he was promoted to Vice President of Public Affairs, and in this post he is responsible for external and government affairs, corporate philanthropy and corporate purchasing initiatives.

Prior to joining RPM, Randell spent 15 years in senior management positions in the nonprofit sector, where he managed multi-million dollar budgets and created programs focused on workforce development, economic development, and community service. He has worked as an independent consultant for over 45 organizations, over half of which were community development corporations.

An active community volunteer, Randell serves on several boards, including Sisters of Charity Foundation (Chair), Fund for Our Economic Future (Vice Chair), Business Volunteers Unlimited (Vice Chair), Baldwin-Wallace College and Cleveland School of Science and Medicine.

Randell believes very strongly that PolicyBridge is important because it will:

  • Provide an open forum for constructive analysis of public policy
  • Challenge the community at-large, especially minorities to think creatively about creating new solutions to old problems
  • Develop new leaders for the common good

Recent honors include being inducted into the John F. Kennedy High School Hall of Fame and being selected as an American Memorial Marshall Fellow, which took him to Europe for a 3 week intensive study. Randell is a 2003 graduate of Leadership Cleveland and is a Distinguished Alumnus of Cleveland State University.
